You're missing out if you don't have Final Fantasy 7.

And as for the Spare Change, no. The reason it has some form of functionality in Final Fantasy is because it's armour ignoring, relatively cheap damage. We also make a great deal of our money back, depending on the fight.

In Guild Wars, it takes a great deal of time or knowledge of the market to make any decent amounts of money. To just throw that away for unblockable, armour ignoring damage on already weak, low health targets, is just going to make the game a game of money and time. The game is already taking away any form of skill it once had and this would be the last nail of the coffin.

In Final Fantasy, you can afford to do this as targets usually have a lot of health to make up for super powerful weapons, levels actually making a difference and money meaning nothing for the most part, as it was very easy to come by.

Actually, it isn't that different to consumables, just more blatant. 1k for 1k dmg is a bit high though, but 100g for 100 armor ignoring dmg (even adjacent to target aoe) and a moderate to high recharge time wouldn't break anything (given skills like pain inverter in the game). And it would also serve as a sink for cash. On the other hand the skill mechanic is a bit out of place, and doesn't fit in with other skills in the game, so I wouldn't want to see it implemented.

Go drop your money on the ground and kill the monster with stone daggers, if you use a lot of your imagination, you'll be okay.

Gold sink skill?

Why not? Instead people getting gold by killing monsters, why not letting them losing gold TO kill monsters?

It could even be added as a PvE unlinked common Prophecies skill.

It could be a reward for one of those final quests without reward, like the Sorrow's Furnace of Titan quests.

Toss Cash
B:n/a E:n/a C:1/2 R:12
Skill. Lose 10% of your current gold. For each 10 piece of gold lost, target foe takes 1 physical damage (Maximum 120) and half that damage is dealt to up to 2 foes adjacent to target foe (Maximum 60). (Common unlinked)

- That makes...
100K -> 10K lost -> 120 & 60 damage.
10K -> 1K lost -> 120 & 60 damage.
1k -> 100gold lost -> 100 & 50 damage.
1gold -> 1 gold lost -> 1 & 1 damage.
- Affected by boss status.
- Affected by armor.

How does your company stay in business? With that policy, your managers are going to have to deal with an endless stream of idiotic ideas (wasting their time) since with the way you stated it, they're going to get an extra $1 anyways (wasting their money). Without a limit, most people will just be putting in random crap everyday just to get some extra money.

You know, this idea has gotten me to thinking. Why don't we make a skill in which we take off our armor and toss it at mobs, or, similarly, throw our staff at someone in Guild Versus Guild? After all, why not?

Or maybe even certain items in our inventory. Since my bags are always full, they could do quite a bit of damage when thrown, and I'm sure no one wants a fetid mass thrown at them. I'll keep a few of those in my bag for human mobs.

Trust me, it's not the trolls that are scaring people away from this thread.

XD

In RO there IS a skill to toss at enemies your luggage. And does work!!!
The more weight you have in your packs, the more damage it makes, but in GW there is no weight in stuff, items use slots.

It could be also possible that one, XD.

Farmer's Bash
E:E C:n/a R:10
Skill. All adjacent foes are knocked down. For each used up slot in your inventory, they take 3 blunt damage (Max 100). (Unlinked common)

XDDDD.

On the contrary, this will only help the poor. If those with cash to burn in gw start throwing it at monsters, the amount of gold in the system reduces, so the gold that's left increases in value which makes items cheaper. The exception to this is merch items that have fixed price.

Yup.

That's the purpose of gold sinks.

Those with gold to spare would toss it to the monsters.
Those that cannot spare gold, would use other skills.

I disagree with the OP's suggestion but FF is a pretty great game series.Throwing away money should be kept for games that don't have an economy between multiple players(so basically offline RPG's).

If anything a throw bones skill should be made(heck they probably drop almost as much as gold does).

The rich and experienced players can already play the game blindfolded with no weapons or armor and still easily beat every mission without throwing gold away. All this will do is encourage noobs and newbs to buy gold (lots and lots of it) with RL money, and that negatively affects the economy. The rich people simply aren't stupid enough to throw it at monsters.

Final Fantasy is a single player game.
Guild Wars is a multiplayer game.

This doesn't work in a multiplayer game.

Discussion over.

I would gladly pay 1-5k to do 1-5k armor ignoring non-reduceable damage to some of the bosslike foes at the end of the dungeons. Doesn't mean it is a good idea to implement the skill, but I would waste money to use it.
